Thirteen injury crashes in three years, and five of them involved someone on foot. That is the intersection of Glenoaks Boulevard and Olive Avenue, the most crash-prone intersection in Burbank. We mapped every injury crash the Burbank Police Department reported from 2022 through 2024 to show where they happen, when, and why.

Map of Every Injury Crash in Burbank
Each dot marks injury or fatal crashes on Burbank city streets from 2022 to 2024. Bigger dots mean more crashes at that spot. Numbered pins mark the top 10 intersections.
The Busiest Crash Corridors
Counting every crash along a street, not just at intersections, five corridors stand out:
- Glenoaks Blvd 126 crashes
- Hollywood Way 99 crashes
- Victory Blvd 97 crashes
- Alameda Ave 92 crashes
- Olive Ave 78 crashes
Glenoaks Boulevard leads the city, and two of the top 10 intersections sit on it. Hollywood Way has three.
Pedestrian Crashes: Drivers Who Didn’t Yield
From 2022 to 2024, there were 145 crashes on Burbank streets in which a vehicle hit a pedestrian. 154 pedestrians were injured and 2 were killed. In 80 of the 145 pedestrian crashes, the police found the main cause was the driver failing to yield to the pedestrian. That is more than half.
About 1 in 4 pedestrian crashes (39 of 145) happened after dark. Glenoaks Boulevard at Olive Avenue and at Providencia Avenue had the most pedestrian crashes of any intersection, with five each.
California law requires drivers to yield to pedestrians in marked and unmarked crosswalks. Darkness and dark clothing do not change that duty.
We saw this in one of our own cases. A driver turning left at Chandler Boulevard and North Hollywood Way hit our client in the crosswalk, then said she did not see our client because our client was wearing black. Read how that Burbank pedestrian case settled for $100,000.
When Burbank Crashes Happen
About half of all injury crashes happen between noon and 7 PM. The worst stretch is 3 to 6 PM, when nearly 1 in 4 crashes occur. Over the three years, each weekday saw about 193 crashes, compared with about 111 each for Saturday and Sunday.

Why Burbank Crashes Happen
The primary cause listed on the police report tells the story. Failing to yield the right of way to another vehicle leads, followed by unsafe speed and running a red light or stop sign. Nearly half of all crashes were broadside, or T-bone, collisions, the type most common at intersections.
Primary cause, share of all injury crashes
Alcohol was involved in 90 crashes, and 111 were hit-and-runs.
Burbank Freeways: I-5 and SR-134
The freeways through Burbank are reported separately by the California Highway Patrol, and that data is complete for five years. From 2020 to 2024, there were 671 injury and fatal crashes on I-5 and SR-134 within Burbank. 1,043 people were injured and 4 were killed. More than 1 in 7 of those freeway crashes (106) were hit-and-runs.
Hurt at One of These Intersections?
If you were injured in a crash in Burbank, the location matters less than what happened and who caused it. Get medical care, ask for the police report, and keep any photos or video. Store and traffic cameras often record over footage within days.

How We Built This
Data source. Transportation Injury Mapping System (TIMS), Safe Transportation Research and Education Center, University of California, Berkeley. TIMS is built on the California Highway Patrol’s Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS). It includes only crashes reported to police that involved an injury or death.
Years. City street figures cover 2022 through 2024. Burbank Police Department reports for 2020 and 2021 are largely missing from the statewide database, so we left those years out of the city street analysis. Freeway figures, reported by the CHP, cover 2020 through 2024.
Intersections. We counted a crash at an intersection if the police report placed it at or within 100 feet of that intersection, and we standardized street names. Rankings are raw crash counts. They are not adjusted for traffic volume.
Limits. Crash locations and counts come from police reports and may contain errors. TIMS data is provided as is, and coordinates may be approximate or updated over time. This page is general information, not legal advice.
Last updated: October 2026, with data through December 2024. We plan to update it as new data is released.
